Devices that Support the Internet
There are many devices that support the Internet and they include laptop computers, desktop computers, smart phones, iPads, iPods, Netbooks, and many more. There are variations on where and when the Internet can connect to these devices. Laptops are portable computers that can be brought anywhere and can connect to the web as long as there is an Internet connection in the area. Laptops can connect to either a landline(dial up) or a wireless service. Desktop computers have less portability, but they still can connect to either a landline or wireless server. These devices are drifting off as new devices are being brought up. Smart phones are the somewhat new device that has taken over the world. Smart phones can go anywhere and everywhere while still being able to connect to the web. Smart phones offer G3 and G4 online with the basic Internet connecting through your cell phone provider. iPads are also becomming very common and can connect to the web in many locations just as a smart phone can. iPods and Netbooks also follow mostly the same procedures as an iPad does when connecting to the world wide web. These devices have caused much mobility in the use of Internet around the world, creating the never ending ability to continually connect to the net. |
Mobility of Devices with the Internet: A Problem? These devices have caused much mobility in the use of Internet around the world, creating the never ending ability to continually connect to the net. Developers view it like this: if we can implement the Internet into anything we find possibly, it will allow for more possibilities and opportunities. This is exactly what they want as they want to reach a wider audience. No matter where you go, there is always someone connected to the web, and as this occurance increases people are starting to wonder if this is eventually going to affect people in the wrong way. The fact that people can take the world wide web with them where ever they travel is a scary thought as they never have their own time without having something 'attached' to them. This could be a reason why there are so many effects to being 'hooked' to the web. Does the web need to be this mobile, do we always need to be connected? Opinions are shared on this subject, some feel that for certain occasions such as a business deal for work, they need to have the ability to connect to the web at all locations to check emails and such, where others feel there is no need that we always need to be connected to something other than our current 'live' life that is currently taking place. A fear is mobility is going to increase over the next few decades, what will this cause? As a world we have yet to figure this out, only time will tell. |
